A disaster loan program for Maui County has been approved by U.S. Small Business Administration. This loan program is meant to support residents and businesses that are affected by March 11, 2011 tsunami. The SBA declaration allows renters, homeowners, businesses and non profits in Kalawao County and Maui County to receive low interest loans for damages caused due to tsunami that flooded the counties.
The SBA is working with all available resources to help businesses and residents affected from tsunami to come out of the trauma. Governor Abercrombie says, “We’re still working quickly to rebuild from the damage sustained and help bring normalcy to affected residents and businesses.”
Affected Maui County businesses, residents and non-profit agencies can visit SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Centers at Kihei Community Center of Maui for filing loan applications.
