CNBC Organizes Panels to Overcome Small Business Lending Problems

The agenda for overcoming obstacles to small business lending has been announced by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The declaration of the agenda for overcoming Small Business Lending problems is set for the forum at Arlington, Virginia on January 13, 2011. This forum will find ways in which credit shall be made more accessible to small business sector. Policymakers, small business owners, regulators, lenders and other stakeholders are brought to a single platform to address key issues relating to small business.
CNBC is going to hold a number of panels for discussing on the issues that are obstacles to small business growth. The decision to have panels by CNBC came after the remarks made by U.S. Rep. ‘Spencer Bacchus’ who is the Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee. “Framing the Issues” will be the first panel to be moderated by Reporter Steve Liesman. In this panel the invitees are Sheila C. Bair – FDIC Chairman, Ben S. Bernanke – Federal Reserve Chairman, Thomas D. Bell, Jr. – Chairman U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Mark R. Warner – U.S. Senator.
Following “Framing the Issues” a second panel titled as “Confronting the Obstacles” shall be moderated by John Harwood. Here the invitees will be leaders from government and private sector. In both these panels, discussions will be held to identify reasons that constrain credit availability to small businesses and ideas will be articulated for overcoming these obstacles.
